SLT Vintage Presents
Cha.Cha.Yea!
Production Notes:
1955 Kay K152-B: (Warhorse ’55) A-Melody, B-Counter Melody
Oh, you Honey Blonde Beast, with voice dripping of unique, human-like qualities. A perfect combination of Stackpole 250k pots, Cornell Dubilier tone cap with a Kay single coil pickup. And for you Spec-Heads keeping track, the same harness parts in a 1955 Fender Telecaster. Hold on because this neck can bust a baseball out of the park. Chunky!
1967 Goya 105 SAC Rangemaster: (The Ranger) A-Comp, B-Melody
So many tones, so easy to play, well-tempered and finely crafted. Regardless of buttons pressed, it sounds like no other. A secret studio weapon: featuring a quiet circuit, speedy mahogany neck, tight semi-hollow body, split pickups… so sweet, the Italian Candied Cherry Red it is.
1965 EKO 995/2 (Signor Basso)
An electric bass with distinct acoustic anomalies, and so much more. The entirety resonates and sustains producing a wide dynamic range. It plays like butter with any action you like. Sure, the spruce arched top nitro may be a little thick, and aged, but this is 1960s Italian. You know, Ferrari, Prada, Fellini… Pour it on!
1972 Gibson Maestro Rhythm King Mk II (The Maestro)
A fabulous, button laden, punchy drummer. Incredibly versatile… the independent instrument buttons can be used for fills and performed live over preset patterns; a technique fully implemented on this recording. Printed direct and dry to tape, then drenched in Kaza magic during mix-down.
