The earliest mainstream Harmony electric guitar model. 100% factory stock down to every screw and solder point. This mid-40s H50 is a serious piece with a knockout voice; A pro level solid woods Cremona box with a carved spruce top, curly maple back and sides, outfitted with a punchy, articulate Gibson P-13 pickup and harness. It sounds amazing unplugged or electrified… and the coolest post-war pickguard around.

This Harmony H50 is a notable collection piece as well as a player. A cornerstone in American guitar manufacturing history.

Appointments feature a gorgeous, engraved tortoise celluloid capped peghead featuring a blue crest impaled with a lightning bolt; Harmony script logo outlined in gold and gold pinstripe; large Bakelite knobs; Bone saddle and nut; Kluson tailpiece and  Kluson Deluxe tuners, The Kluson tuners are a rare feature on Harmony guitars. All the hardware is in excellent condition except for a little bit of erosion on a few tuner buttons which are holding tight.

The neck is straight, relief is excellent, very little sinking at the body. It plays remarkably well, and all notes fret properly over the entire course. The action is excellent! It currently sits at 1/16th 1st fret, 1/32” 12th fret, with the bridge at its lowest. The P13 pickup is exceptional in clarity. It hits 6k output and the entire electric circuit is quiet and clean.

The photos show any defects, nothing is hidden. No cracks or dents. Checking is present as well as light scratches and dings. Two lines on lower back show slight separation. A number is carved in the back of the headstock, SS? There is a worn area around the treble side peghead/neck area, most likely from a strap. Slight stress area around output jack but completely solid. The first three frets have some cowboy chord wear.

Ships in its original tan chipboard case that is missing the handle.

Adjustments and cleaning are not performed except dusting for photos. The bridge is removed for shipping. A knowledgeable setup may be required.
