Visit The Chronologue on this model for detailed specifications. COMING SOON!
What you see here is a remarkably rare piece of American guitar manufacturing history and a highly collectable item. This instrument is One-Of-A-Kind, a One-Off. A Legend! Only one of these has been documented to exist. This Silvertone 1377 was built by Nathan Daniel for the purpose of showing Glen Carver at Sears, Roebuck and Co. a new solid body electric guitar for their catalog. Glen Carver worked for Sears Corporate Marketing office. One side of the headstock plate is blank; the other has Glen Carver engraved. The body is poplar, and the neck has an aluminum block from the bridge to the nut. All original hardware includes the original bridge, knobs, Waverly 3-OAP tuners, stacked potentiometers (2) BH 4260A 137422, 3-way Carling toggle, (2) Astron 400VDC capacitors, original early lipstick pickups taped under molded plastic pickguard. The output jack plate is made from a cut Astatic logo plate! Thick maroon finish on body and smooth maroon lacquer neck.
The playability of this 1377 is perfect. Action can go as high or low as you like, and all notes sing perfectly over the entire course of the neck.
The harness is wired so that both pickups are always on, regardless of 3-way switch. Being that this was a demo for Sears, it makes sense. The pickups are powerful, crisp and capture the best that Danelectro ever offered. All solder points are 100% original, and a ground wire has been added.
It is in excellent condition with minor wear and a few minor scratches in the finish.
Ships in a brand-new pro Gator HSC with keys.
The Chronologue is an online database of in- house, hands-on gathered specifications for the historical reference of each instrument. Using SLTV gold standards, each instrument we sell is inspected without sacrificing its vintage integrity, guaranteeing it remains 100% factory stock.
Adjustments and cleaning are not performed except dusting for photos. Due to age, instrument will be detuned and bridge may be removed for shipping. A knowledgeable setup may be required.
